Community Fund
The Patcham Community Association was formed in 1945 and is a Registered Charity with two objectives, firstly to run a Community Centre and secondly “to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Patcham and the neighbourhood” in cooperation with other groups in the area.
With the opening of the new Patcham Community Centre about 5 years ago, our first objective is being well & truly fulfilled, as it is used by upwards of 45 different regular groups, plus many private gatherings during the year. This means during the year there are over 1,500 bookings, which, if the prestigious horticultural show & model railway show are included, result in well over 30,000 attendances. And it is all run by a few volunteers. (With good assistance & support from our friends at Brighton & Hove City Council.)
In recent years our finances have improved to an extent that we are now seeking to further fulfil our second objective by the creation of the Community Fund, the aim of which is to provide financial assistance to local groups involved in projects which will bring long term benefits to groups in the local community.
So, if you are in a local group which is raising funds for a project, to say, improve facilities for our youngsters, provide adult activities or to enhance life for senior citizens, we may be prepared to help.
Only written applications with fully costed proposals will be considered and an application package is available for download/print or by post from the Centre.
